Aurora Police Respond to Reports of Active Shooter
UPDATE: A suspect has been taken into custody following a mass shooting in #Aurora Illinois.
February 15, 2019 Aurora Police were called to the scene of an active shooter Friday afternoon at a business located in an industrial park. There are unconfirmed reports of “multiple injuries” including at least one Aurora police officer. The shooter remains at large.
According to CBS News, there are unconfirmed reports that some police officers may have been injured in the shooting.
A law enforcement source told WGN in Chicago that one Aurora police officer is down and the shooter is at large. Kane County’s SWAT team has been deployed as well as the U.S Marshal’s Task Force.
Aurora Police officials have confirmed that officers are on the scene of an active shooter situation. At least six ambulances and six fire trucks were also dispatched Friday afternoon to Highland Avenue and Prairie Street in Aurora.
According to the Henry Pratt Company website, the company is located at 401 S. Highland Avenue in Aurora, Illinois. Aurora is located approximately 40 miles from Chicago.
West Aurora School District 129 has reported that they are holding students. Holy Angels Catholic School said it was on lockdown amid the report.
